I came across the vintage textile and furniture shop Barrington Blue while reading the blog For Me, For You and became infatuated with their bright pattern, shapes and textures. Started by Carie Olshan and nurtured through a love of travel, design, upholstery and textile craft, Barrington Blue has breathed new life into a slew of handmade textiles and unique one-of-a-kind pieces.
Their products include a wide range of color, pattern and texture throughout their line of pillows, cushions and seating. Carie also lends her expertise services to furniture renewal, upholstery, fabric sourcing and prop rentals. Basically she’s a jack of all trades when it comes to adding pizazz to home goods.
You can fight those Monday morning blues by immersing yourself fully in the beauty of Barrington Blue here and in shopping their full online product line here.
When Design Sponge featured this stunning weatherboard cottage, home to photographer and prop stylist Kara Rosenlund, its eclectic style caught my eye immediately. As I clicked feverishly through each perfectly styled room, I was drawn to what is surely a blank slate of white covered with Kara’s collected treasures from her travels as a photographer. Kara and her husband settled in the cottage in 2010 and have only participated in small and thoughtful renovations since as a way to stay authentic to the original home.
I loved reading about the memories the house has given her and her family over the years. You can read more about what parts of her home are truly her favorite here, and while you’re at it, be sure to check out her amazing photography portfolio here.
below are some of my favorite links from around the world wide web this week…
i seem to be going through a major nesting phase lately and have been on the hunt for some colorful rugs to shake things up a bit around our house. this article by victoria on summer rugs highlights some really great picks for summer! photo via beklina (a wonderful shop that i highly recommend checking out!)
it’s hard to believe that it’s already mid-july, which means hotter days and more time spent outside. you may be sweaty, but at least you’ll be adorable in any of these boho hats c/o brit + co’s roundup this week.
and while we’re on the subject of steaming hot days and accidental sunburns, the next time you forget to apply your trusty SPF, try this “after sun homemade lotion” by corina, the talented blogger behind cocorrina.
and just because it was a really great week, here are some more links that i’m loving:

the melbourne home of eddie kaul and richa pant is so floaty and dreamy, i’d like to just move right in. the light whites paired with pops of color throughout the decorative details make every room in this space fresh, modern and energetic.
i can’t get enough of how well thought out every piece of furniture, artwork and addition of color is. this space offers the very best juxtaposition of hard meets soft and many of the rooms throughout the house are brought to life through plants, organic textures and well styled vignettes.
be sure to check out their full feature over on the design files to catch their amazing outdoor courtyard, in addition to their sweet story about how much they love their space as well.
i’m a pretty basic girl when it comes to my wardrobe, but i’ve gotta say, i’m really feeling the subtle fringe trend going on. i mean, that skirt? it could break even the most neutral loving heart.

life as of lately has gone a little something like this…
work, work, work, get engaged, plan a wedding in 8 short months, work, work, work, try to balance it all, cry a little (okay, maybe a lot) from said planning, drown your stress with good wine and even better friends, get married to the love of your life, go on an amazing honeymoon, turn a year older and quite possibly a year wiser, realize it’s not all about work, make a promise to yourself that this is the year you’ll go after all of the things that you’ve always wanted.
and so through all of that, i’m here. back. (again) and really really excited to be posting somewhat regularly. you all have continued to be so supportive as i stepped away from this space and made some really wonderful transitions in my life, some that i plan to loop you in on in the coming weeks. but before we get there, here’s to brand new beginnings, being at peace with not always having all of the answers, saying yes to new opportunities and leaning on each other for support along the way. cheers!
Life this summer has been all about easy going weekends and calm nights with friends. Hot days have brought a looser and lighter wardrobe and I’ve actually really been enjoying the casual appeal of simple pieces. No muss, no fuss has been my fashion mantra this summer and I’m loving the nautical vibe that many of the pieces above are offering.
What are your favorite trends this summer? Anything awesome I’m missing trading in the usual mall visits for days by the lake instead?

one week ago today, nate and i were lucky enough to experience one of the most beautiful days together. along with our amazing friends and family, we began a new chapter of loving each other even more then we could have imagined and in a whole new way. it has been an insanely wonderful first week of marital bliss and i can’t even begin to imagine all of the amazing things that our future together will hold.
the photo above was taken by our extremely talented photographer april zelenka who captured our day so perfectly. i’ll post a full recap of the wedding in a couple of weeks, but for now there is sleep to catch up on, cake to eat and a calm after the perfect storm to enjoy.
thanks for all of your love friends – it means the world to us!

i just love this attic apartment located in amsterdam, the netherlands. it’s filled with vintage pieces and flea market finds yet houses such simplicity.
the white woods paired with natural hues and bright natural light sets a calm and comforting vibe throughout the entire apartment.
