i’m just loving this unique hand drawn branding and textile project for “TWTH atelier” designed by bordeaux based design studio bmd design. the raw and vintage vibe holds such a wonderful and unique characteristic and is a solid foundation to display the company’s mission and history visually.
check out more of the above branding, as well as all of bmd’s work right here.
i am geeking out over all of the amazing art that society 6 has been featuring as of late. and the very best part? the website not only features a multitude of talented artist but also a wonderful supply of prints, iphone /ipad covers, canvases, cards and throw pillows to spruce up any part of your daily routine.
check out some of my favorite throw pillows above with links to purchase below. mixing and matching has never been so fun!

i’m a huge fan of stitch design co. in fact i’ve featured their work in this column before, but when i came across their identity work for an event company called hobknob, i just couldn’t help myself from gushing about this charleston firm once more.
the whimsical and colorful patterns, icons and alternate typefaces are spot on and they all provide a unique and fun aesthetic that carries through many different pieces. see the full identity pieces featured on designworklife here.
i’m a little past due on this post being that it’s already february and all, but i still wanted to let you all in on this free downloadable calendar that i just happened to stumble upon while perusing a blog called musla. a joint collaboration between the blog’s owner kirsikka simberg and an illustrator named eija whom she follows on instagram, this 2013 calendar features all twelve months laid out perfectly, complete with it’s own unique illustration for each month.
this joint collaboration was created to inspire and provide a free gift for all of us who appreciate great art and design, but just don’t have the time or resources to create our own unique calendar. download the pdf and print yours out right here.
happy weekend friends, i hope it’s a great one!
happy thursday! i’m super excited to be adding a new feature to the blog called “shop this” where each week i’ll highlight some of my favorite items from a creative shop and/or boutique that i’ve recently come across. some features will be local, some online shops, even a few etsy picks here and there, but all items will be loaded with great aesthetic and can be sure to serve as an awesome gift guide if you’re in need of one.
below are some of my favorite picks from this weeks online shop, best made company which features some really great gifts for guys, but i wouldn’t mind receiving any of their rugged and wonderfully designed items any day of the week.
shop these items below:

i recently ran across the sugar deli food center identity system designed by fred carriedo and was enamored with the clean and sophisticated look of the logo and identity pieces. the packaging is designed with a wonderful sense of detail and the checkered pattern feels right in line with the idea of going on a picnic.
all of fred carriedo’s work on his website is an absolute pleasure to look at. check out more here.
i’m super excited to kick off a new feature titled “inspired by” with graphic designer and blogger alex yeske! each week i’ll be featuring an inspiring creative highlighting some of the things that make me drool over their talent and creativity.
i started following alex on twitter a while back and after some chats via email she agreed to be one of my sponsors in my new blog launch. i knew right then that she was just as great as the content on her blog. alex lives in new york city and works as a graphic designer for madewell. (hello dream job!)
i adore her classic aesthetic and am always impressed by the polished look she portrays. whether that is through her blog content, design work or instagram feed, i’m always left refreshed by her style. above are some regular highlights in following along with this talented lady!

how gorgeous and elegant is this wedding invitation by mae mae paperie? i’ve been such a long time fan of megan’s and always look forward to seeing the new bridal collections she releases here and there. whether you’re a bride or not, it’s definitely not hard to appreciate the structure and visual elements that make up these beauties. the styling is spot on as well, which always adds another star in my imaginary rating book.
and in other news, some ch-ch-changes are happening around here. i’ve recently accepted a position as a designer for a firm here in madison and i start today (eeks!) i couldn’t be more excited and i’m truly convinced this is the right step for me as i move forward in my career. i will still be blogging somewhat daily, but i’m going to be following a more structured schedule to keep me focused (i tend to get distracted waaay too easily) and hopefully it will provide some consistency around here as well. so each week i’ll feature different content on similar subjects so keep your eyes peeled for what’s in store.
well, it’s about time to pack up that backpack of mine (in this case, my purse of technology) and take my awkward first day back to the real world picture. wish me luck!
i finally received the jcrew fall catalog in the mail yesterday and while i was sifting through, i couldn’t help but fall in love with each of the looks above. obviously polka dots are a hot commodity right now in the fashion world. one trend that’s alright by me! with the cooler weather we’ve been having lately, i’m starting to feel that nostalgic fall sparkle floating in through the windows and i can’t help but think about the more polished look i’m able to sport during this season.
this summer basically consisted of me throwing on whatever i could find with minimal amount of fabric and throwing my hair up on top of my head in order to beat the heat, so i’m definitely looking forward to embracing a season of cooler weather and the trends that go along with it. and because you won’t regret it, do yourself a favor and view the jcrew fall lookbook right here.
