Lone Flag is a brick and mortar shop dedicated to premium products that are essential lifestyle goods built with quality and purpose in mind. I first learned about the opening of the Del Mar, CA store via instagram where I follow the owner Sam’s talented wife Kelli Murray.  It’s been a blast following along from afar and seeing these two work hard and make sacrifices to follow their dream of opening up their own shop. Check out more of Lone Flag’s inspiring story here and shop their curated collection of USA made goods here.

If you follow me on Pinterest, you may have noticed a flurry of inspirational office photos clogging up your feed lately. A couple of months ago Nate and I decided to convert our spare bedroom into an office so I could have my own work space and he could have his. We’ve made leaps and bounds in terms of cleaning, organizing and donating excess junk that is no longer needed and now it’s on to the part that I love, decorating.

The new office is white with hard wood floors and two wonderful windows. One that looks directly into our neighbors kitchen (thanks city living!) and one that looks out into our adorable little backyard. Both windows provide great light but to make it even brighter, I went with all white furniture as well.

With our canvas so blank, decorating with unique and colorful office accessories has been the way to go. It’s still possible to get the clean, white look but with a homey rather than sterile feel. I’ve been adding a lot of plants and gold accessories to the space and am currently on the hunt for the perfect reading chair.

Keeping organization uncluttered yet functional has been a bit tricky but something that I’m still working at. It’s definitely all about patience and progress, but so far I couldn’t be happier with the way things are turning out. You can see more of my office inspiration here and if you have any suggestions on chic (but affordable!) reading chairs, please let me know – I’m getting desperate!

Warby Parker Half-Decade Collection / Atlas + Isolation

It’s been a really exciting week for my friends over at Warby Parker! On Monday, Fast Company named them number one in The World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies, (an honor very well-deserved) and today they released their new Half-Decade Collection in celebration of all the amazing things they have accomplished over the last 5 years!

The Half-Decade Collection is the perfect ode to Warby Parker’s history and mission with it’s unique and inventive take on color, frame shape and style. It features a group of of five and a half shapes (yes, another monocle!) from their first-ever collection, re-released in a limited-edition spectrum of the Warby Parker signature hue, blue, and engraved with a 5 on the temple tip. Each pair arrives packaged in a specially designed box inscribed with all of their frame names to date. How is that for serious style?

With all of this celebrating in mind, I pulled together the two looks above featuring my favorite frames from the collection – the Fillmore Frame in Harbor Blue which is great for the confident, quirky gal and the Colonel Monocle in Atlas Blue which is perfect for the trendy, sophisticated guy.

Shop the entire Half-Decade Collection here, and be sure to join in on the celebration here!

Do More Of What Makes You Happy - AI

Contrary to my usual routine, this year was the first year that I didn’t sit down and write an extensive list of all of the things that I hope to accomplish in the new year. Instead, I simply have one goal: Do more of what makes me happy. (And to stop apologizing for it!)  Such a simple, yet powerful little goal. One that when exercised, has already brought me a stronger sense of clarity in who I am, where I’m currently going and in the end, what matters most to me.

In today’s world, it’s so easy to fall victim under the heavy stress of unrealistic expectations and constant comparison. And if we’re honest with ourselves, we can see that this struggle is not only mine and yours, but in some ways, it has become the definition of our overstimulated and overzealous society.

Because of that, it is a necessity to give to ourselves just as much as we are giving to others and to simply spend our time wrapped up in the moments that make us the happiest. This year, I encourage you to do more of what you love and if you’re struggling along the way, I highly recommend diving into one of the following podcasts and taking a moment to reset. Cheers to new beginnings!

Designer and blogger Emma Robertson launched her new website a couple of weeks ago and with one glimpse into her updated portfolio, it sure packs an inspiring punch of design, art direction and photography projects.

I’ve followed Emma’s blog Emmadime for quite some time and was introduced to Eva Kolenko’s keen photographic style through it.  Immediately I was drawn to Eva’s stark, contrasting and fun shots. (Her food photography is my favorite!) So when i saw that Emma was working on Eva’s lookbook, I knew it would be a killer collaboration. 07.14.14_post_02

Above are some of the beautiful spreads that Emma designed to showcase Eva’s work. You can check out the entire project here, more of Emma’s graphic design work here and Eva’s beautiful photography work here.

Sidenote: The Camp Studio Tour Emma just released on her blog a couple of weeks ago is by far one of my favorite projects of her’s. So quirky, fun and unique. Enjoy!

I guess it’s inevitable that I’m one of those twenty something girls who is in love with every product, piece of apparel and book that Anthropologie sells. Does that make me one big cliche? Quite possibly, but when a company hones in and perfects every aspect of their brand, I think it deserves to be celebrated. Above are some of my favorite picks as of lately but trust me, there is a whole lot more to love right here. (And in stores too!)

Atlas + Isolation | Our Wedding

Nate and I got married on Friday, April 25th, 2014 on a bright and sunny day which was sandwiched in between a 7 day forecast of cold and rain. It was the most beautiful, flawless and loving day that I’ve ever experienced. I know a lot of brides probably say that, but for a bride who actually hated being a bride, (I’ll admit it) our wedding was the complete opposite of what the planning process had been…instead it was calm, collected and perfect in every way. I know as a creative, I’m supposed to tell you that I loved planning every last detail down until it all was perfectly curated, but the truth is I was always more interested in being Nate’s wife rather than in having the perfect wedding.

But when the morning of our wedding arrived, I woke up with a sort of calm in me that truthfully I didn’t even know I had. Everything felt right, everything felt perfect and as we went through the day, everything fell into place just as we had always imagined it would. Our pastor gave the most heartwarming and authentic ceremony, friends and family flew in from around the country and together, we celebrated into the next day. It was complete and utter perfection and I’m so excited to be able to share the photos below. Our photographer captured so many special moments between Nate and I, with our family and friends, and of our wonderful venues.

I know I’m a little late to the game in posting this, but from the bottom of our hearts, a huge and sincere thank you to all of you who contributed to our special day through your love and support. Five months later, we’re still celebrating the fact that we are lucky enough to get to spend our lives together.

Lately, I’ve been taking a backseat from my usual gold obsession and trading it in for copper. I’ve noticed that it’s the perfect warm addition to what can sometimes be an already expected home, wardrobe or beauty routine. (Note to the brown eyed beauties of the world – this copper cream eyeshadow provides the perfect pop of color for summer!)
